A few questions you might have

Does my site need to by hosted by The Design Loom?

The short answer is, it depends. Depending on how your website is set up and where it’s currently hosted, we may still be able to serve you after we take a look into your setup.

If you are not hosting with us and think we would still be a good fit to handle your site’s maintenance, feel free to contact us and we can take a look into your website to ensure it’s something we’re able to take on.

What is considered to be a "content update"?
For content updates, think of the things you see when looking at your website. Some examples might include updating text or updating images, adding pre-formatted blog posts, changing colours, implementing tracking codes etc.

Some examples of things that would not be included in our Content Updates would be design work, creating content, creating custom plugins or adding new functionality to your current plugins, or creating new websites.

If you have work to be done on your site that would not be considered included in our Content Updates we can give you a quote for the project.
What happens after I sign up?
If this isn’t a site we have built for you, once you decide on and pay for a plan, we will email you a very quick and easy form to fill out which will gather a few logins to your website, domain registrar, FTP, etc. Once we have a chance to review and verify that we have the appropriate access to your existing site, we will take a fresh backup of your current site.

Once we have a backup, we’ll take a look into your current website, run some reports and audits to see how the site is composed. After this, we’ll begin our migration over to our secure servers within a test environment. Once we’ve ensured everything has been moved across and is running smoothly, we’ll begin optimising the site to ensure top performance on our servers.

Once the site is moved, optimised, secured with SSL, and working well, we will repoint your domain’s DNS records to make the site live on our platform. From this point, we’ll have everything we need to keep your site performant and secure 24/7.
Can I have multiple websites?
Yes, of course! Each website will require it’s own plan, however.
Where will the website be hosted?

Our sites are hosted on a WordPress managed host meaning the sites are safe and secure around the clock and optimised for speed.

Are email accounts included?

No, sorry. We do not provide email accounts. We only recommend using Google Workspace to handle your email. We can help in making sure that DNS is set up correctly but if you need help setting up the email accounts we can provide you some great resources.

What happens if I cancel
When you have your hosting and site maintenance with us, you will always own your own domain, DNS and website files. If you do not wish to continue our services we will ensure you have everything you need to help facilitate a move off our platform. We don’t believe in holding websites hostage, so we’ll make this process as easy as we can for you – no hard feelings!

In some cases, we may provide different premium themes and plugin licenses which are not transferable if you were to cease our services. If you wish to continue using these plugins or themes after switching hosts, you would just need to purchase and maintain your own unique product license.
What are the contract terms?
We like to keep our terms pretty simple. If you try our service and it doesn’t seem to be the right fit for you, just cancel within the first 7 days by emailing us and we will start the offboarding process. All of our plans are month-to-month and there are no lock-in contracts.
Can I change my plan?
All of our plans are month to month. If you want to upgrade to a higher tier plan, let us know and we can bump you up to the next tier immediately (and you would only pay the difference between the two plans for that particular month), or otherwise, we can switch you to the next tier for the next monthly billing cycle.

If you want to downgrade, that’s ok too! The downgrade will take place during the next monthly billing cycle.
What are your support hours?

Our general support hours are between 10 AM and 6 PM AEST, Monday through Friday except on most major Australian holidays.
